Route History

This feature is in Beta

The Route History feature on ROSCOLive allows users to look back at a vehicle's previous trips and perform a variety of tasks such as looking at events generated during the trip, where the vehicle was at a given time, how long was the vehicle stopped, and much more.

Trip Definition - A Trip on ROSCOLive is defined from ignition on to ignition off.

Using Route History

To see a vehicle's route history, select a vehicle from the vehicle list on the left side or simple select a vehicle icon on the map.

The map will focus on that vehicle and a panel will open on the right side of the screen. This is the Vehicle Panel. Towards the top of this panel is a menu of icon buttons for different features. Select the Route History button to see the vehicle's route history.

The panel will now change to show the selected vehicle's trips for that day.

Route History Panel

The following is a breakdown of the components in the Route History panel:

1. Date Selector

The date selector allows you to choose or browse through dates to see trips on those dates.

When opened you will notice that some dates are black while others are greyed out. The black dates are dates with trips recorded on, while the greyed out dates are those without trips. This helps give you a general overview of the vehicle's activity for that month at a glance. The date that is highlighted in blue is the currently selected date.

2. Trip Card

The Trip Card contains information about a particular trip the vehicle took that day.

  1. Trip End-point Time - When the trip ended.
  2. Trip Start-point Time - When the trip began.
  3. Trip Duration Time - The time it took the vehicle to complete the trip.
  4. Travel Distance - The approximate distance the vehicle traveled during the trip.
  5. Event Indicator - If an event is generated during the trip, this indicator will appear on the card with a number that indicates how many events were generated during the trip.

Selecting the Trip Card will display that trip on the map.

Overnight Trips

If a trip occurs overnight, the trip card will be on the date the trip began.

3. Parked Duration

This displays the time elapsed between the end of the previous trip and the beginning of the next trip.

4. Trip Replay Controls

These control the playback of the trip animation on the map.

  1. Trip Start Time - Time the trip began.
  2. Trip End Time - Time the trip ended.
  3. Timestamp Counter - Timestamp of the current position of the vehicle. This will change when the trip is being played back, when the progress bar is moved, or when you click on either the forward or backward arrows. The arrows move the time in 5-second intervals. If you click and hold this interval will increase.
  4. Progress Bar - This bar shows the playback progress of the trip.
  5. Play/Pause - This button starts the playback as well as pauses it.
  6. Replay Duration - This selects the duration of time the trip replay will take to complete. This means that no matter the actual length of the trip, the replay will conclude in this time.

Using the Map View

When a trip is selected, it will be represented on the map as a line with a start (A) and end point (B). The vehicle icon will be located at the start point.

When you hit the play button in the Trip Replay controls, the vehicle icon will begin tracing the path on the map and replaying the vehicle's activity on that trip. If an event occurred during a trip, it will be represented on the trail by a orange triangle with an exclamation point.

By clicking on the event icon it will open a pop-up window containing snapshots of the event, allowing you to play the video, share the event, and save the event to your flagged events.
